Akamai snaps up CDN contracts of Edgio business; end of the road for legacy and standalone CDN
Akamai acquired a set of CDN customer contracts for content delivery and security from Edgio. Akamai acquired the assets as part of a bankruptcy auction initiated by Edgio earlier this year as it plans to shutter its CDN business.
