Time to restart the clock for data centre demand and supply
Is the data centre industry concluding its collective multi-year freak-out? To be clear about what I mean by that – end user buyers, operators, and real estate developers have come together in a panicky gestalt where data centre projects – real, speculative, and fake, have been thrown at customers to try to solve the worst supply problem that the industry has ever seen, caused by a confluence of unexpected AI/ML demand, poor land banking and unclear demand plans.
